COVID Update 8/29/22
Norfork Community:
We wanted to announce that the Norfork School District now sees COVID as another sickness that we unfortunately have to deal with. Our stance this year, COVID will be dealt with under our wellness and sickness policies. We always encourage you to keep your child home if they are sick, especially if they are running a fever. As of right now we will be taking your pediatrician or family doctors recommendations for your child’s care and will excuse absences accordingly. All absence policies will be followed and your written and signed doctors’ orders will rule the day. We are excited and hopeful that these decisions will stand from here on out, however, we will adjust if the situation worsens like we have for the last two school years.
We are excited about a lot of things that are going on and you will begin to see changes on our campus. We are expecting 26 new cafeteria tables in approximately 10 weeks. Every room on campus now has air purifiers. Some of you may have noticed materials around the high school? Our new roofing project for the entire school will be beginning soon!! Once construction begins, we may need to make some concessions for dealing with the work and we will keep you updated. Once these roofing projects are in place, a HVAC campus wide project is being planned and will begin hopefully within the next 12 months. We have added many new safety features for buses focused mainly on safety on and around the bus. On our campuses we are patiently waiting on equipment to do more!! We have more certified CSSO’s with not only defense training but lifesaving training as well.
We hope your students are enjoying the added choices in the cafeteria. We are so excited about being able to feed everyone for free and again ask that everyone fill out all paperwork sent home with your child to help us with this endeavor.
We are fully committed to providing the safest environment we can for you but most importantly your kids, our students, our future!! We have many plans that are paid for and in the works to further make our campus the safest place possible and that will always be our top priority!!
Again, let’s have a great year, our excitement level is high and we are so very happy and proud of where we work and we love the people we serve… NORFORK!!
Go Panthers!!
